Former Champion Trophy, who won New Zealand coaches, undergoes 77

Being a right-arm pacer, Trist took 57 first-class wickets in 24 matches in County.

Former New Zealand cricket coach David Trist, who led the Black Cap for his first global title at the 2000 ICC Nockout (now Champions Trophy), died at the age of 77.

A former pace bowler for canterbury, Trist, infected in South Africa, Hong Kong and Netherlands in 1999 with a coaching infection with stents in South Africa, Hong Kong and Netherlands, making Steve Rickson successful. Although his tenure as the head coach of New Zealand lasted for only two years, Trristt left a permanent heritage.

Under his guidance, Black Caps defeated India in the finals to achieve the ICC knockout in Nairobi- Chryce Cairns sealed the victory with the match-winning centenary. The side led by Kane Williamson defeated India in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) in 2021.

After his international coaching career, Trist was involved in the game as a coaching director at Christchurch’s Old College Cricket Club and also contributed to his expertise in India and England. New Zealand cricket paid tribute to him, saying that it was “deeply unhappy” from his death and expressed condolences to his family and friends.

In other coaching events, Gary Stad is allegedly drawing for a close as the head coach of Black Caps as a spell of nearly seven years. Stead, who had previously left the position of New Zealand’s white-ball coaching duty, has not been interviewed for any future role, which means a possible end of one of the most successful chapters in the team’s coaching history.

Under the leadership of Stead, New Zealand 2019 and 2021 reached the finals of both the World Cup (ODI and T20 formats), and won the famous inauguration World Test Championship.

Now, with Stad Set to Exit, New Zealand Cricket has interviewed a group of contenders to take over: former bowling coach Shane Bond and Shane Jurganson, current assistant coach Luke Ronchi and South Africa’s recent white ball coach Rob Walter
