Aces start strong, 2 hold the storm for winning a straight

A’Ja Wilson scored 19 points and collected seven rebounds to help stay on the top of the Las Vegas Aces coming in Seattle Storm 75-70 on Sunday night.
Jackie Young added 12 points, while Chelsey Gray, Jewel Loyd and Alia Ni Ney won their second direct directly with 10 appearances. Aces has now defeated Seattle twice on the road in a period of seven days.
Gabby Williams put 20 points for Seattle (3-4), which has lost in three consecutive and has not defeated Las Vegas twice in a season in seven years. Skylar Digins ended with 11 points in the first game of the Commissioner Cup for both teams.
The storm lagged behind many as 17, but within 73–70 was a chance to go with 13 seconds. But a midrange shot by Dominic Malonga was away from the impression, and Loyd made two free throw at the other end with six seconds to play the deal.
Las Vegas led 44–32 in the half, but the storm fought back. Williams lacked Seattle for less than 10 when he buried a shot from outside with 8:28, closing the difference to 44–35, to go to the third.
Digids then scored five direct points, including one and one trimming, which was brought within 44–40, with 6:05 left in the quarter.
The aces did not get its first point of the second half until Lloyd transported to the lane and scored with 4:56.
Five direct points by NYE to close the quarter, brought Las Vegas a 61-47 lead to fourth place.
Malonga scored the first eight points of the last period for Seattle, helping to play with the storm 66-55.
The game was closed as a 69–60 with four minutes in the game after a taking a carry by Erica Wheeler and was just below 73–68 with 1:39 after drilling the open 3-pointer of the wheeler.
The Storm won the last week’s meeting from 102–82, but Las Vegas set a tone earlier this time, using a 10–0 run of 10–0 highlighted by Young’s 3-Pinter, which made it 12–5 with 6:57 in the initial quarter.
Young was huge during the early period, scoring seven points, while Dana Evans scored inside and hit the upcoming free throw to increase the ACES lead 27–17 to another after killing them with a dishonesty. The turnover of the eight first-Timi did not help in the storm.
A 3-pointer with Evans 8:56 extended the Las Vegas profit to 30–17.
Williams, who made his first four baskets of the game, drilled a shot from the distance, with a 5:03 with a capture of the aces to 35–25.
Williams later made his third 3-pointer the third 3-pointer of the day, trimming Seattle’s deficit at 3:23 at 38–30, but the aces moved into a hastime with a double-point cushion.
