While NFL has approved active players to participate in the 2028 Summer Olympic flag football tournament in Los Angeles, Commissioner Roger Goodll made it clear that NFL would not determine which players will compete for the United States.

Instead, Goodll said that during the meeting of the league owners this week, the roster selection will come down in a separate group: USA football.

“This is actually a work of USA football that must be making that decision,” said Goodll. “There will be no participation in that selection process of NFL.”

According to USA Football Bualavs, Goodale will appoint three persons to the 15-member board, of which at least two-five-person will serve in the executive committee.

All this comes after days when NFL owners unanimously voted in favor of allowing players to compete in flag football at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. More than one player of each NFL team will not be able to participate in sports, which will include six men’s teams and six female teams with 10 players.

Goodll said at the time, “I know for the first time that the inclusion of flag football in the Olympics has increased a tremendous amount of enthusiasm among NFL players interested in competing for their country on the world stage among NFL players. “We are thrilled that they will have that chance now.”

2028 Summer Games are scheduled to be held from July 14-30, 2028. NFL players typically stay away from mid -June until the beginning of the training camp in late July.
