KL Rahul was dismissed for 42, when he added 91 runs for the initial stand with Yashsavi Jiswal in the Ind vs Engage Test.
Ever since Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from Test cricket, there have been many debates from whose place KL Rahul will replace it. Rahul may need an opener India in difficult times, and he was not worthy of India right after Kohli. After going back and forth, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir remained as an opener with Rahul. Rahul dominated the first hour of the IND vs ENG Headingley Test, provided a correct start. But all ended with an incomplete finish as Rahul was rejected for 42.
By the 78th delivery, Rahul seemed under control, dominating the passage of the game. While Jaiswal still had a few moments of fear, Rahul seemed infallible. Rahul attacked England’s pacers in the first hour. There was no relief on loose balls. And when he obtained delivery out of the stump, he was firm. He was cautious, but was stable, which did not give England pacers no chance even in the first session. This inspired Captain Ben Stokes to bowl 5.4 overs to prevent the attack.
