Las Vegas – entering its eighth season in WNBA, Las Vegas Aces Superstar A’Ja Wilson is designed to build on the league that was certainly the most prominent individual campaign in the league history.

Wilson joined Synthia Cooper (1997) as the second player in League history to win a unanimous MVP award and joined a special club as the fourth player to win three times. He scored an average of 26.9 points per game and 11.9 rebounds per game last season and set all-time single-season mark for points (1,021) and rebound (451).

Unfortunately, for Las Vegas, his two previous championships increased injuries and fatigue and resulting in the team’s worst regular-region record (27–13) since 2019. The three-peet hopes of the Aces ended with a domestic loss of 76-62 to New York Liberty, dropping the semi-final series 3–1.

This is a disadvantage on the floor of his home that serves as Wilson’s inspiration.

Wilson said, “Sucking, especially on your home court,” Wilson said “it still burns a little bit, but I have used it that as fuel to help my colleagues understand this, we can win in this league. Yes, we want to celebrate two championships. But we want to understand that we see that we see a better way.”

While the aces appeared on top of the world in their potential three-beat expeditions in 2024, the reality inside the locker room was that both internal and external pressure were suffocated to win another championship. A common theme on Media Day was the fact that the team feels low pressure to enter the 2025 season, a Bhavna Wilson shared as the team’s undisputed leader.

Wilson said, “(Three-beat talks) clearly impressed us, because it is so, you think we don’t want to win? We are also trying.”

“I will definitely say that this is fresh this year. I think it is one of my only years where it seems that there is no weight. Defending champs have a lot of weight. It’s a lot of weight that is trying to win a one.

For the third time in four years, one of some historically important achievements to pursue the aces on top of the mountain for the third time, Wilson can gather this upcoming season. Wilson League can also become an MVP in the first four times in history, although it means something that he has not yet allowed himself to consider.

“I haven’t thought it much, but in that conversation it would be a blessing to keep my name,” Wilson said. “Every year, I try to be better than a year ago to give myself a chance in this league. Because the league is getting better. We are growing. At this point, you just want to maintain your stamina. You want to maintain your mental, because the season becomes harder. I can’t think too much, but I am definitely trying to be better.”

As ACES coach Becky Hamon said, fans can expect to see a better version of Wilson in this season.

“What I am seeing is, she went and got better,” Hamon said. “When you are already the best, it is difficult to do so, but it talks to the morality, her will and her mindset of her work. We talked about this offsen completely. She is a busy woman, but I can tell you that she is always doing her workouts. She is always doing her workouts. She does not come first and first.”

When Hemon was asked that a player like Wilson would probably need to improve after the last season’s campaign, the coach did not feel like disclosing too much.

“There (there was something to improve for Wilson), and he did,” Hamon said. “I am not going to tell you what it was. In fact, there were two things.”
