Is Rahul Tawatia Washington Better than Sundar? GT’s choice is nothing but baffling

Just think that you are the captain of an IPL team, and your squad has two all-rounders-Washington Sundar and Rahul Tawatiya. Who will you choose in your playing XI? Most of the choice will be clear in Vashi, but perhaps GT captain Shubman Gill and coach Ashish Nehra also do not think so. Somehow, Tewatia is eligible to play XI over the resident, a proven all -rounder for Team India.

On Saturday, GT management once again proceeded with Tawatia, while Washington Sundar was named as one of the sub. He, when he bowls financially, and can bat in order, and may also be explosive. Tewatia did not bowl in IPL in two years, and the last bowling in IPL 2023. In fact, his last wicket was in 2021 season for RR, and has become a wicket -free since then. This year, in 7 matches, they have Average 30 runs on an average. Yes, the last year was decent for him where he reduced the order 188, but for what purpose is he solving in GT?

While out of the 7* matches of the team, Vashi has played only two and has come out with decent returns. Against SRH, batting at number 4, he scored 49 runs in 29 delivery, took his side for a win, but was rebuilt in the next match. Then in the GT vs LSG, he failed with the bat, but was excellent with the ball, where he returned with 1/28 figures .. So it is not just understanding.

But then this injustice is not new to the Tamil Nadu all -rounder. He has been around the IPL since 2017 and has played only 62 matches so far – where he has taken 38 wickets in the 7.53 economy, and has scored an average of 14 on an average – due to lack of large -scale opportunities, even when he is playing.
