Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all -rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Friday failed to test the bat gauge test against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) during his side’s IPL 2025 match. The incident occurred in the fifth over after Sam Curan’s dismissal. As soon as Jadeja went out to bat, the on-field umpires were in a hurry to check their willow several times. Jadeja looked a bit excited, while the umpire was passing the gauge via his bat, eventually indicating in dugouts for more bats.

Jadeja also broke his bat on the ground once or two so that his bat could pass the exam. After beating his bat, Jadeja asked the umpire to investigate his bat again, but it did not test this time.

While the incident disappointed Jadeja a little, former Australia captain Michael Clarke praised the BCCI for starting the bat gauge test in IPL 2025.

Clarke said on the air,

Meanwhile, Harshal Patel took four wickets, as SRH dropped five -time champions CSK for a minor 154.

In a possible Must-win match for both sides, SRH Bowlers carried out their plan for perfection to limit CSK into their den.

Harshal (4/28), who cleverly used the changes of motion, was well well complemented by Skipper Pat Cummins (2/21), Amboidxtrous Spinner Kamindu Mendis (1/26), veteran Mohammed Shami (1/28) and Jaydev Undkat (2/21).

Dewald Brevis (42 out of 25) was the top scorer, while Deepak Hooda (22 runs in 21) played some loud shots towards the end to get the CSK Plus 150-Run mark.
