Yankees inf jazz chisholm jr. To start rehabilitation assignment

New York Yankis Infielder Jazz Chisholm Junior will play in a modest league rehab game with double-e-samaraset on Thursday.
Chisholam will bat the leadoff and play a third base, which may indicate that Yanki will use 27-year-old all-star when he returns to the Big League.
Chisholm has been sidelined with a stressful perfect oblique since late April. Yankiz manager Aaron Boon said that the team would consider playing Chisholm in the hot corner while living with New York. He may be active according to Mlb.com the next week.
“I want him to work there this week and maintain that flexibility in his games,” Bune said on Wednesday. “Then we will decide in one or the other way.”
Chisholm played the third basis mostly when Yenkis acquired her from Miami in the last summer, but after leaving Gliber Torres in a free agency, he went back to his natural position of the second base.
While Chisholam has been sidelined, Yankis withdrew the IL from IL to Infielder DJ Lemahiu, but lost the third basman Oswaldo Cabarera (left ankle fracture) for the season.
For his career, Chisholm has played the second base in 1969 Games in 196 and in the center field for 192 Games. All 45 appearances in the third took place in 2024 with Yankis.
