Late bucket, defensive stop help sparks kept fever away

Azura Stevens and Calsey Plum anchored Los Angeles Sparks to win 89–87 on host Indiana fever on Saturday night at Indianaapolis.

Stevens created a significant free throw with 3.1 seconds to keep visitors ahead by two, finishing with 21 points and 12 rebound double-dobbal. Plum added 20 points, killing four 3-pointers for sparks (6–13).

Aliah Boston (23 points, 12 ribounds) saw its ninth double-dobbal of the season, but recalled a possible game-hang jumper from above the key in the bajar for fever (9-9).

The loss of Natasha Howard was 21 points and nine rebellions.

Ari McDonald’s of Indiana stole 30.1 seconds remaining from Julie Elemand and the back from 88-87. On the next possession, however, Lexi Hull rebound an off-the-mark 3-population by McDonald’s, but missed a jumper with 4.2 seconds, leading to fever.

Rickia Jackson shut down 9–3 runs with a pair of aggressive trimmed and a free throw, leaving the sparks with 58 seconds to give the lead for 88-87.

The fever proceeded from 60–52 after a midrange jumper by Howard compared to the midway through the third quarter. However, the sparks gained a point for an 18–7 lead to take a gain of one point in the final period, which was a trimmed and plum with a 3-pointer.

The biggest advantage before Haftime was a 32–26 lead for fever after a pair of free throw by Howard, which was left with 6:25 in the second quarter.

Plum, however, Los Angeles drain the sparks to a 36–34 lead and brought back a step-length. When she descended strangely on the shot, the plum was able to stay in the game.

The sparks tipped the things up to 40-40 with 1:45 in the first half, Boston shone his handle with a downhill, off-hand paste, which put the fever above two. Fever led 45–42, which was at the end of the first half of the back with a joint nine relationship and lead changes.

Sparks are 2–6 in their last eight matches, with both winning against fever, who saw the three-game winning streak closely.
