New Delhi: Krunal Pandya gave a player of the match performance to guide Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for his first Indian Premier League (IPL) title at Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday. The IPL was raised for Rs 5.75 crore by RCB at the IPL 2025 mega auction, Krunal took out his entire arsenal, refusing Punjab Kings to gain control during their chase. His magic of 2 for 17, including Prabhasimran Singh and Josh England’s important wickets, proved to be a game-changer and played an important role in RCB’s six-run win.Krunal later revealed that he had clearly determined his intentions with the franchise during his first conversation-he was there to win the trophies-and he performed well on that promise with a match-defying performance.“When we batted, we realized that you bowl slowly, it is better. In this format, you need courage to do it. I just supported myself and thought that I will separate my speed and keep it more often from a slow side. My biggest strength is to know what the situation would have to do. It was difficult. He said, “So far enjoyed his time with RCB. I told him from day one that I like to win trophies. I also told Hardik that Pandya’s house would have nine trophies in 11 years.”

Krunal now has four IPL titles in his name – three with Mumbai Indians – and Tuesday’s performance marked the second time that he has won the Player of the Match Award in the IPL final. The first came in 2017, when he scored 47 runs off 38 balls to help Mumbai Indians now defeat Pune Super Junts.
