The beginning of Indianapolis 500 on Fox Sports certainly paid dividends in racing as the largest spectacle, which, according to Nielsen’s fast national rating, attracted an average audience of over 7 million-became the most viewed Indie 500 since 2008.
Fox Broadcasting, according to Nielson, reached the peak of 8.4 million viewers between ET at 4:15 and 4:30 pm, as Alex Palu was logging on to the concluding laps of its first Indie 500 wins.
The 7.05 million average viewer increased by the year 40 percent year by year, as the NBC broadcast of the 2024 race was an average of 5.024 million spectators.
Palau claimed the 2025 version for chip Ganasi racing, which also produced the Indi 500 winner in 2008 (Scott Dixon), when the race had an average of 7.245 million spectators.
