“Really happy when we lost …”: Mi batter Suryakumar Yadav’s honest statement after Fifty vs LSG

Mumbai Indians star batter Suryakumar Yadav has continued his excellent form in the Indian Premier League 2025. The right -handed batsman scored 54 runs in 28 balls in the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants at Vankehead Stadium on Sunday. MI captain Hardik Pandya lost the toss and LSG captain Rishabh Pant opted to bowl first during the day’s play. Speaking about the result of the toss, Suryakumar said during the innings that it was a good toss to lose for MI as bowling and fielding under the sun would have really been difficult.
Suryakumar’s FIFTI helped MI Post a total of 215 for 7 against LSG.
Suryakumar said, “When we lost the toss, I was really happy, because it is really hot, but scoring the 200-plus is really good from a batting point of view,” said Suryakumar.
He said, “This is a good score and I think the wicket is a bit slow and I think it is going to challenge his batting line-up, let’s see how this happens,” he said.
Suryakumar’s combative 54 and Ryan Ricelton’s 58 fired MI to a large total vs. LSG.
Suryakumar, while crossing the 400-run mark with his third fifty, continued to rob the run to become a leading run-scorer in this IPL. India T20 skipper also completed his 4,000 runs in the IPL.
Suryakumar’s 28 -ball knock, with four sixes and with several fours, MI was placed on track for more than 200, even Tilak Verma (6) and Hardik Pandya (5) fell into quick succession.
During his innings, the standout stroke was when Suryakumar went down to his knee to pick up Prince Yadav (1/44) on the fine leg for six off the waist-up ball.
The LSG’s decision to bowl before the sun feared a spin-friendly track under the sun, backfire on a somewhat batting pitch, no bowler was able to control stroke-play.
The scoring rate of MI became around 10 A over, as it was felt that they were passing through the recession in the second half.
Ricelton’s attack in Powerplay promoted Mumbai’s charge, even losing Rohit Sharma quickly.
After scoring the back-to-back fifty, Rohit (12) welcomed India Speedster Mayank Yadav (2/40)-with two sixes in action after a cut off of an injury. But India’s captain was undone from slow delivery.
Mayank pulled out at 120 kmph delivery in the third over, which the batsman directly cut into the hands of the prince in the third man.
But the initial shock had no effect as Ricelton set his way for an impressive other IPL fifty off 25 balls.
Left-handed South African wicketkeeper-Bater hit his progress quickly in the game, killed the wicket powerfully and distanced anything in his border.
Ricelton shared a second wicket of 55 runs with Will Jack (29), which establishes the foundation for middle order.
He punished both motion and spin and made the LSG bowlers the most length to bowl at the beginning of the competition.
Ricelton shut down Digwesh Rathi (1/48), when he made a place to hit one on an in-field but the top-head extended it.
Finally, Naman Dhir, who had to change his bat to thwart the gauge test, scored 25 runs from 11 (2x4s, 2x6s), while debut Corbin Bosch inscribed 10-Gund 20 at 10-gond 20 to take the previous mile from 200-marks.
