BCCI clarified the stand on Rohit Sharma’s sudden retirement: “We don’t put any pressure …”

Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket was a personal decision and there was no pressure on him by the BCCI to take that call, its vice president Rajiv Shukla said on Thursday. Rohit announced his retirement before the five -match Test series in England starting on Wednesday, June 20. “As far as Rohit Sharma’s retirement from Test cricket is concerned, he has taken his decision, he has taken his decision. It is our policy that the players who decide the retirement-we do not put any pressure on him, nor do we suggest anything, neither we say anything,” Shukla told PTI.

Rohit is an undisputed white ball great, but he cannot repeat the success he played in 67 tests. Shukla said that his contribution to the five -day game was immense.

Shukla said, “The more we admire him, the lower it is. He is a great batsman. The good thing is that he has not yet decided to retire from cricket (only ODIs will play). So we will definitely take advantage of his experience and talent,” Shukla said.

With Rohit stepping down, it remains to be seen which India is high until the captaincy of the Test. Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill are among the contenders.

When asked about the possible names in the field, Shukla said that the matter is strictly with the selection committee.

“There should be no speculation. The selectors will decide you and tell who is the captain … This is completely and purely their call.”

As the world has reminded Rohit Sharma’s Test career after its retirement, anyone can easily notice joyful and painful climb, which will be forever for cricketing fraternity and fans, which they teach and what they teach.

‘Hitman’ has seen all this in tests. After making a noise in the Mumbai domestic circuit for his knock in the long format, it took Rohit six years to get his Test cap in 2013 after his international start in 2007. Even after receiving the iconic hat, it took the time of the right hand to find stability and rhythm that could justify his immense talent.

An unstoppable animal at home, but extremely inconsistent from home is the story of his entire career. While the house crowd has been treated a ‘hitman’ exclusively many times, his fans in other parts of the world, traveling to stadiums with their hard -earned money, often want more. Full talent, the brightness of undisputed technical skills, is surrounded by innumerable examples when the batsman was very inconsistent and throw his wicket.
