The purpose of Kevin Gausamman is to fulfill the sweep of the diamondback.

Toronto Blue Jas will send the right-handed Kevin Gausamman to the mound on Thursday afternoon as he goes for a three-game sweep of Arizona Diamondback.
Gaususman (5-5, 4.08 ERA) is 6–1 with 2.22 ERA in nine career games (eight start) against Diamondback, but has not faced them since 2021.
Blue Jais has won the first two games of the series, including 8–1 on Wednesday.
Diamondback Scheduled Starter will try to overcome the closing behind Rhine Nelson (3-2, 4.14). The force of the right hand is 0–0 with 2.84 ERA in two career against Toronto.
Diamondback hopes that they have survived a blow after an X-ray on the left hand of outfielder Corbin Carol on Wednesday night. He collided with a pitch in the eighth innings, stopped to run the hideouts and then left the game.
“They are being evaluated,” manager Tori Lovulo said after the game. “The fusion of the left hand was what I can tell you. X-rays were negative, so this is positive news. … I won’t be surprised if he told me that he wants to play tomorrow. But we are going to have an open mind, we will continue to evaluate it and see how he feels.”
Carol said that this pain would be a matter of tolerance. He offered Arizona’s only run when he scored three times and a groundout in the sixth.
Erizona has already been without a catcher Gabriel Moreno in the series due to a hand in a throat. He was expected to play on Wednesday.
“To retreat him a little and give him some treatment and some treatment and rest, we felt the best solution would be,” Lovulo said.
After 5–1 homestand, Erizona has lost the first two matches of the Nine-Game trip.
Meanwhile, Blue Jais used George Springer in the Center area for the eighth time on Wednesday this season as they deal with outfielders with injuries.
He used four players in the center area on Tuesday, who was injured in a gradual innings after Jonatan Class (knee bat) and Miles Straw (Michery’s right ankle). Both are listed as day to day.
Toronto opened a close game on Wednesday with sixth and three runs in three.
Vladimir Gurero Junior was 2 -for -2 with three RBI and three walks (one intentionally). Bo Bichet had three hits, including one Homer and two RBI, while Edison Baragar also had three hits and one RBI and Ernie Clement also had three hits.
Clement extended its hitting Streak into the best nine games of the career, which was going to 16 -for -39 (.410).
On the mound, Gosusman will have a difficult task to follow Thursday.
Left-Hander Eric Lawyer on Wednesday performed another strong outing, a season-Best out of eight, while allowing a run in a season-high five-plus innings. In his last five outings, including two beginnings, he has 1.42 ERA in 19 innings with a .136 rival batting average.
One of the keys has been the command of his fastball.
“To intensify people, slow them down, take them in and out and down,” Laur said. “It’s pitching for me. I am a pitcher. I have never been a discouraged boy; never just a single man. … but I think I can play my pitches better how I can throw my fastball.”
Josh Niler of Arizona extended his hit Strike to eight matches on 2 -for -4 Wednesday.
