SKC erased two-grains deficiency, draws with St. Louis City

Sporting Census City on Wednesday scored twice in the last 20 minutes to turn two-grains deficiency in a draw 2–2 against hosts St. Louis City.

SKC’s Tim Libold and Dejan Joveljic offset the second-half-goal Saint Louis’s Cellio Pompeu and Sedric Tachertart before a half goal.

Both teams left a lot of opportunities on the pitch.

Sporting Casey (3-8–2, 11 digits) had 17 shots, but only five were on targets. Fortunately for visitors, two of them changed late.

St. Louis (2–6-5, 11 digits) had 16 shots, with seven goals, and now the nine-match wineless streak (0-6-3).

Pompeu almost gave St. Louis City a three -goal lead in 15 seconds in the second half, but his crossing shot went right near the post.

Both keepers rescued point-blank shots at the beginning of the second half. Roman Berki of St. Louis stopped Joveljik’s attempt in the 54th minute. A minute later, SKC’s John Pulskamp stopped a break -off attempt by Marcel Hortel.

Joveljik leveled the match in the 77th minute to a mounting header by Shapi Sulemanov from a long free kick.

Sporting pulled back almost one in the first minute of the first half stoppage time when Joveljik attempted a shot from outside the 6-yard box, but Barki removed it.
