With immediate effect by the Control Board (BCCI) for cricket for cricket in India after the Indian Premier League (IPL) indefinite suspension, all ten franchises are now waiting for further advice on how they can start sending Indian and foreign players, as well as withdrawing their respective homes for their respective homes once. “Yes, the IPL franchise has now been suspended indefinitely by the IPL 2025 by BCCI. The franchisees who are at their respective bases will now stay for three to four hours.”
Sources said, “The franchisees are now waiting for further advice after MEA briefing on Friday evening how they can start sending Indian and foreign players, as well as return assistant employees and other crew members to their homes,” the sources said.
The decision to suspend the IPL 2025 indefinitely with immediate effect due to acceleration of border tension between India and Pakistan, especially after wind and drone attacks from Pakistan, was black out in Jammu, Pathankot and Udampur on Thursday evening, all of which are close to Dharamashala. As a result, the match between Punjab Kings (PBK) and Delhi Capital (DC) was called to the HPCA Stadium after half the way of the first innings.
Along with the airport in Dharamshala and other North Indian cities, both PBK and DC players and support staff members, match officials, commentators, broadcasting driver team members and other major IPL-related personnel are expelled from a special train organized by the tournament on Friday morning and expected to reach New Delhi.
IANS also understands that the Australian parties in the IPL, including both players and assistant employees, can fly from India since Saturday morning, especially Cricket Australia (CA) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) both issued statements about the safety and welfare of their players.
