CF Montreal Olger acquires priority rights of Escobar

CF Montreal on Thursday acquired the rights of homegron of Midfielder Olgar Escobar from the New England Revolution.
RVS receives $ 125,000 in general allocation funds of 2025 and additional $ 50,000 if certain conditions are met. New England also retained one percent of the future rights of the native of Massachusetts.
The 18-year-old Escobar has been signed with Montreal 2027–29 with options years through the 2026 season.
“We are pleased to welcome Olgar to our club,” said Montreal President and CEO Gabriel Gervice. “He is a high-affected, creative player with great aggressive nature and technical ability.”
Escobar, who competed internationally for Guatemala, was named the next U-10 MVP in the Academy Player of the Year of New England and MLS in 2022-23. He recorded a goal and a support 34 career performance with MLS Next Pro Side Revolution II. He is yet to make his MLS debut.
