“Can be a gun fielder, can bowl those guns overs”: Hardik Pandya’s massive praise for MI Star

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya and his Sunrisers Hyderabad’s counterpart Pat Cummins on Thursday credited disciplined bowlers by hosts bowlers to win their four wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at the Vankhed Stadium in Mumbai. Will Jack came with a great all-round performance, took two wickets for 14 runs and scored 36 runs and Mumbai Indians banned Sunrisers Hyderabad to 162/5 and then reached 166/6 in 18.1 overs to chase a difficult chase and won the third win of IPL 2025.

“The way we bowled, he was very smart and spot. We were clinging to simple, basic plans. It was not easy to hit some balls. Credit to the bowlers, we hit them some good shots. We were like squeezing them. The surface looked good green. Yorker looked very clever,” said the four wickets of their team.

SRH captain Pat Cummins admitted that it was not an easy wicket to bat, but credited the bowlers of Mumbai Indians to execute their plans well.

“The easiest of the wickets was not the easiest of the wickets, 160 was less. It was a difficult wicket, catching the cutters. They stopped our scoring areas a lot. I felt that we had all the locations covered. 160 (was), you feel a little younger, you feel, I felt that we have given it a good crack with the ball,” Cummins said it.

Pandya also praised Jack for his good bowling and good fielding. He also felt that this would be difficult for his team with 42 needs from 42 balls, but some limitations reduced the pressure.

“He (Will Jack) may be a gun fielder. Bowling those guns overs. Today it stopped for him. When we needed 42 runs, we felt that it is a difficult part, so we took it in a few overs and did not get very excited. As soon as the boundaries come, we stopped the pressure at the end, so we hit the pedal at the end.”

Mumbai’s Indian batsman Ryan Ricelton was also happy to contribute to the team’s victory. The hosts rode a significant contribution by Ryan Ryan Ricelton (31), Will Jack (36), Rohit Sharma (26) and Suryakumar Yadav (26) and Tilak Verma (not 21) and reached 166/6 in 18.1 overs and won by four wickets with 11 balls.

“It’s good to contribute, just to go. Still itching for that big score. It was not the easiest wicket, but we adjusted well, good to go on the line. It is not very difficult, unattainable. [playing on these tough wickets]The foundation is, just trying to work those small things in my game. This is a task in progress, if I can increase my game, it will bow down well for the future, “he said.

Ricelton said that he also obtained from the experience of Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.

They felt that they could ban SRH for even less score.

“Smart was there with the ball in hand today, perhaps they can be placed on an even less score.
