Aerial sports betting bill dies for 2025 in the state legislature

Online game betting in Hawaii will have to wait after a push to legalize it in the state legislature.
Friday was the last working day of the Legislature’s session, and raped the Daniel Holt bill, which in a committee demanded to bring betting online in Hawaii.
Holt told Khon2, “We have not yet come on an agreement on the number of operators, tax rate, fee and details of those types.” “And there are still some types of questions that are left unanswered by some members, who are concerned about sports betting.”
Holt started Bill, HB 1308 in January this year. The law would have licensed four or more online sportsbooks to operate in air, but the initial repetition of HB 1308 did not address the tax rate or licensing fee, leaving them open for negotiations.
Bill may have also legalized the daily fantasy games in Hawaii, where it is not currently allowed.
Sports in Hawaii are part of the opponents of both inside and outside the legislative body of the state in the movement to legalize betting.
Honolulu’s Mayor Rick Blangardi said in a statement last week, “Our neighborhoods and our families are at a high stake to allow our efforts to make the game betting safe, stable and healthy communities.” “We should not introduce a system that risks the integrity of our neighborhood and the safety of our residents, and our attention should be on protecting our people.”
Holt said that he and other supporters of sports gambling in the Legislature “gave it another attempt next year and we will see how it goes.”
