Why did R Ashwin retire before the Syden Test in Australia? Spinner spreads beans

Ravichandran Ashwin played 287 matches for India, with 765 wickets. He also scored 4394 runs with 6 centuries and 15 half -centuries.
765 International wickets, 287 matches and Ravichandran Ashwin had to draw the curtain down on his brilliant career with a test to go. While there were rumors of a rift within the India cricket team on the tour of Australia, Ashwin has rubbed them. It was his personal call that he had been thinking since he played his 100th Test. Washington is also doing well with Sundar, Ashwin said a time before the Sydney test.
“To be very honest, I wanted to do it after my 100th test. And then I thought, okay, let me go to the house season. Because, I mean, you are playing well and you are doing wickets, you are scoring. So I thought it thought it was a little to play.” Ashwin said on Mike Testing 123 podcast with Michael Hussey, batting coach of Chennai Super Kings.
Why retire before Sydney Test?
Despite his adventures against England at home, Ashwin did not have a great performance against Bangladesh and New Zealand. Against Bangladesh, even though Ashwin raced for six wickets in the two -match series, he ended with 11 wickets. Then came to New Zealand and as India was 0–3 at home, Ashwin could manage only nine wickets in three matches.
Washington Sundar, a young Washington, looked at Ashwin with 16 wickets against New Zealand. Thus, he became the major off-spinner of India on the Australia Tour. Ashwin played just one match in Australia, taking a solitary wicket. In 1 test in Perth, Sundar was preferred on her. While Ashwin returned to the 2nd Test, he was re -left for the Brisbane Test as Jadeja played the spinner. In Melbourne, Sundar got priority again, and was the last straw.
Ashwin, who was already considering retirement after playing 100 tests, made an emotional call. Even before the team was selected for the Sydney Test, Ashwin retired from international cricket on 38.
“I thought I would probably be closed here with Chennai test. I finished the six-wicket race and a hundred. When you are very good, it is very difficult to leave it. So, I went with the chain, and we lost against New Zealand. So one after the other. So one after the other, and then I think I think I see Australia.
“And when I did not start in Perth, it was liked, well, this whole cycle goes on again. People add very little value to what you are doing emotionally. They do not really consider it because your feelings are yours and it doesn’t matter to someone else. So I was considering it and then I thought it’s, probably, it’s time, it’s time,” “ Ashwin called his feelings and logic, leaving with a test to go.
