Arizona Diamondback Standout Right-Hander Corbin Burns on Sunday took out the game with the inconvenience of the right elbow in the fifth innings against Washington Nationals and will have to undergo an MRI exam on Monday.

Diamondback manager Tori Lovulo did not attempt to meet his level of concern when he met with reporters after a 3–1 victory.

“Sometimes I tell you guys that I am minimally worried,” Lovulo said. “I’m more than this.”

Burns was trying to take the patient’s approach.

Burns said, “I had never had anything before, so I really have nothing to compare it.” “I will not really know until we see it.”

Burns allowed CJ Abrams a two-out single and immediately came to the dugout to a trainer to come to the mound, then shouted in frustration. The conversation with Burns was brief that there was an issue with the elbow.

“He originally called us there in the fifth innings,” Lovulo said. “He felt that his elbow was uncomfortable. As soon as you listen to the elbow,” you want to remove your pitcher from the mound.

“We are going to remain as optimistic as possible that we are going to get very good news through MRI.”

The 30 -year -old Burns said there was no special pitch that hurt him. He said that this was a gradual situation where his velocity was decreasing.

“It started getting tight on me. I noticed that Velo started falling and the movement started on my pitches,” Burns said. “We reached this point in the fifth innings, where I tried two other times to overcome Abrams and I could not do it. It reached the point where the tightness was very high and we did not feel that we need to push any further. Hopefully we have caught it early, hopefully it is not bad.”

Burns, a four-time all-star and 2021 National League Sai Young Award winner, with Diamondback in their first season, are with diamondback after signing a deal of $ 210 million, $ 210 million.

“This is an intestine,” Lovulo said. “He is difficult. He rarely complains about anything. When you give him a wave to the trainer and coach out of there, you are stopping your breath. It’s difficult, it’s very difficult.”

Burns gave one run and four hits in 4 2/3 innings before his exit. He hit six and one went away.

“It seems sad,” Arizona Third Basman Eagenio Suarez said about Burns’ injury. “He is really pitching well and then he left the game with some in his elbow today. I pray that we don’t remember him for a long time.”

Burns is with 2.66 ERA at the beginning of 3–2 to 11 years. He has scored 63 runs in 64 1/3 innings.

There are strikeouts in eight sessions with Milwauki Brevers (2018-23), Baltimor Oriols (2024) and Diamondback (2025) in 210 showers (149 start) with 3.15 ERA with Burns 63-38 and 1,114 strikes.

Sunday was the second win in the last 11 matches for Arizona.
