“To relax for time”: MS Dhoni’s big decision on East-CSK Star on IPL future

Former India cricketer and 2007 T20 World Cup winning star Joginder Sharma feels that it is time for Chennai Super Kings icon MS Dhoni to “rest”. Chennai, a team that claims five titles win and 12 playoffs, was chasing its own shadow as the group was out of the playoff race in the stage. The nominated captain Ruturaj Gikwad was dropped from the tournament, Dhoni led CSK. There is speculation about Dhoni’s future in the Cash-Rich Indian Premier League after the five-time champion was out of the playoff race after a Shambolic campaign in the 18th season.

Rumors about Dhoni’s retirement spread when his family came to Chepuk for the stability of Chennai against the Delhi capitals last month. The rumor mill filled the fuel as 43 -year -old in batting, especially Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming admitted that Dhoni could not bat for “10 overs running full stick”.

In the 2007 T20 World Cup, in Dhoni’s final against Pakistan, Joginder believes that it is time to bid for an experienced wicketkeeper for his 18-year long journey in the Cash-Rich League.

Joginder told ANI, “Given Mahi’s fitness level, he should play to prove his fitness, but I believe it is time for him to rest.”

Dhoni addressed his retirement plans, as his finishing touch helped Chennai to try defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders earlier this month. He admitted that he would have to see if his body could take pressure in the next six to eight months.

He said in the post-match presentation, “After the end of this IPL, I have to work hard for another 6-8 months whether my body can take this pressure. Now there is nothing to decide, but the love and affection I have seen is excellent.”

With gloves with his cruel force and electric-supernatural reflex, Dhoni set several records in the 18th season, including 400 T20s, which became the oldest player to post the match player, won the most as a captain and many more.

During CSK’s IPL 2023 Triumph, Dhoni did not remember a single match. He led the team from the front and ensured that his military went to the end of the tournament with his fifth IPL title. Months later, the former Indian captain performed knee surgery earlier this month, so that he could overcome the issue he moved for most of the season.
