BCCI Central Contracts 2024-25: Complete list of players promoted, demoted and ax

The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced the annual retaines contracts for Indian players in 4 categories. India’s Test and OD captain Rohit Sharma and batting talisman Virat Kohli retained their place in the A+ bracket, while Shreyas Iyer and Ishaan Kishan’s first ax pair returned to the fold in the list, including a total of 34 players. The A grade, which takes over the annual retainship fee of Rs 7 crore, also has Ravindra Jadeja and Paes Spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, like the last few years.
India’s Champions Trophy Hero Iyer has been a remarkable comeback in the list, included in Group B, which comes with an annual remuneration of Rs 3 crore.
Ier was dropped last season last season to ignore domestic cricket for IPL. Wicketkeeper-better Ishan Kishan. For this reason, he also returned to Category C, which costs Rs 1 crore annually.
The players first promoted or handed over the contract:
- Rishabh Pant (Grade B to Grade A)
- Shreyas Iyer (None of Grade B, but was part of BCCI contracts before the 2023-24 season)
- Ishaan Kishan (none of Grade C, but was part of BCCI contracts before the 2023-24 season)
- Sarfaraz Khan (no one till grade C)
- Nitish Kumar Reddy (no one till grade C)
- Abhishek Sharma (no one till grade C)
- Sky deep (no one to grade C)
- Varun Chakarwardi (no one till grade C)
- Harshit Rana (no one till grade C)
Players were demoted or axed:
- Shardul Thakur (no one from Grade C)
- Jitesh Sharma (no one from Grade C)
- KS India (no one from Grade C)
- Avesh Khan (no one from Grade C)
Rishabh Pant, who was demoted in Group B during the 2023–24 season, was returned to the A category in place of retired Ravichandran Ashwin. Category A comes with a perpetrator of Rs 5 crore annually.
Category C has the maximum number of players, 19 in Harshit Rana with four new entrances, Varun Chakraborty, Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
