Jazz Extended Coach will be hardy via 2031

After the worst season in the history of the franchise, Utah Jazz on Monday confirmed his commitment to Head Coach Wil Hardy with a contract expansion.
Hardy, 37, has compiled a record of 85–161 (.346) through its first three sessions in Salt Lake City. His new multi-year deal runs on 2031.
“I am humble and honored,” according to the team’s website, Hardy said. “This is an incredible franchise. It is difficult to explain to be able to be able to commit to the next stage of our process. Such moments are very real. I am very excited.”
Jazz ended at 17-65 in 2024–25 with the worst record in NBA. Earlier, Utah’s worst finish was 23–59 in its opening season in the league in 1974–75.
“Will is a great leader, communicator and ambassador for our (organization),” the owner Ryan Smith posted on X. “… Our goal is to hang a banner, and Will is a large part of this journey.”
Hardy worked in June 2022 before Jazz became the head coach with Boston Celtics (2021–22) and San Antonio Spider (2015-21).
