Drew Rasmusen played six scorer innings, and Yandi Diaz postponed two runs single as Tampa Bay Raz beat hosts Miami Marlins 4–0 on Saturday afternoon.
Since July of 2018, the rays are 25–6 against Marlins which is informally known as the Citrus Bowl Baseball Series.
With Saturday’s victory, the rays are 10-3 in their last 13 overall road games.
Rasmusen (2–4) allowed only four hits and no walk, with five out.
Diaz had 10 hits of Tampa Bay and one of the four stolen bases of one of the rays.
Marlins Starter Sandy Alakantara-2022 National League Sai Young Award-winner-Nostly lost to her sixth straight start, her stellar career.
Alakantara (2-6) ran in five innings, which scored five hits, two walks and four runs.
Marlins played his second direct game without starting a shortstop and leadoff batter Xavier Edwards (back tightness).
Miami had a two-out singles pair in the first innings, before Rasmusen excluded Eric Wagaman.
Tampa Bay opened scoring at a rally in the fifth innings, which began with Jose Cablero’s Infield Single. He then stole the second and third, scoring Chandler Simpson on RBI single. Diaz then added his two runs single.
The rally ended when Jonathan Aranda ended its 0 -for -13 recession with a broken bat RBI single. Aranda was left with half the bat … and RBI.
At the top of the ninth, Brandon Loves sung, but the Marlins Center’s fielder Derek Hill threw Simpson out in the plate. Simpson left the game due to unspecified injury.
On Sunday, the rays will try to win their third straight series after taking two out of three from Milwauki and then Toronto.
On Sunday, two right hands will begin. Shane Baz (3-2, 5.02 ERA) will begin for Tampa Bay. Cal Quantril (2-4, 7.00 ERA) will begin for Miami.
