‘Every game playoff competition now’: GT after MI’s head coach Mahela Jayawardene after defeat

Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardane said that his side lost in execution and lost the game despite being under control against Gujarat Titans in the IPL, saying that five -time champions would consider every remaining match as “playoffs”. Titans of Gujarat won the fourth consecutive win over Mumbai Indians, with a three -wicket win in a rainy game. The MI was limited to 155 to eight, GT six slipped to 126, but the interruption of another rain saw that the target was revised to 15 needs than the final.

He said, “I could bowl (Will Jack) Jackie, Karn Sharma, or whoever was (whatever) over (whatever was), but I think Deepak had worked for us in some sports before. He was good, the main bowler. (This) (our path could),” he said.

“It is easy for you to ask the question that ask me the question and say this to me, yes, maybe Hardik. (But that) had gone for three sixes, (then) You must have asked me why you did not bowl Deepa, so I don’t like to go to him.” He said, “It was not a decision, it was execution and it is not the place where we have lost the game. GT’s assistant coach Parthiv Patel, meanwhile, defended his middle and lower order batsmen, as he struggled to chase a medium clan on the batting-friendly surface, especially when his top three-B Sai Sudhrasan (5), Jose Butler (30) and Shubman Gill (43)-failed.

He said, “He hardly got a chance to bat. Today was the only day where none of the top three got fifty. Otherwise, till date, everyone had got those runs. It is just one game. But said, we should clearly take some correct decisions,” he said.

Patel said, “We still want to improve. We want to be better at the end of the tournament business.”
