Tyrese Haliburton caught his own missed free throw and buried a 3-paper with 1.1 seconds, causing the visiting Indiana pacers to win 120–119 over the short-hand Cleveland Cavalers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference, the commanding lead in the series.
Donovan Mitchell scored the final eight points after two free throw with 57 seconds to increase the lead of Cleveland by 119-112. Basket by Aaron Nemith and Pascal Siakam made it a single game, and Andrew Nebhard later stole an inbound pass from Max Stus.
Heliberton made a dishonesty with 12.4 ticks balance, making him his first free throw to make 119–117, then grabbed his miss on another. He moved beyond the arc before creating a 3-paper to complete Indiana’s return by 20 points.
“Apparently, we became lucky,” said Passers’ head coach Rick Carlisle. “Ty hit another wonderful shot to win the game. You don’t see it very often, let it go alone twice a week. Tieres, he came again. We’re very lucky.”

Six-time all-star Mitchell scored 12 points in the first, 15 in the third and 12 in the fourth. He tried 15 out of 30 field goals and was 17 to 21 on free throw, installed and tried in the free throw.
“Michelle had a brave game,” said Carlisle. “But right now, we are deeper than him. I think we wore them.”
