BCCI Central contracts to be out this week, 3 new faces are to be added

Last year, the BCCI announced its central contracts at the end of February, with the names of 30 players.
The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce central contracts for the upcoming 2025-26 season by the end of the current week. The BCCI has already been late, given that they issued contracts in February last year. The BCCI has called at the same time to change the contract staff and players of the India Cricket Team.
Earlier today, we heard that India’s assistant coach Abhishek Nair has been dismissed before the tour of England. Now according to CrackbaseThe central contract will soon be out.
For rewarding Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana
It was earlier told that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah would be retained in Grade A+. New information tells us that three new players will be BCCI central contracts. These will be Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana.
The three made their debut after the announcement of the final contracts. According to BCCI guidelines, “Athletes that meet minimum three tests or eight ODIs or 10 T20I play norms within the specified period will automatically include Pro-Rata basis in grade C.”
The idea period for these matches usually occurs from October to September. Abhishek has played 17 T20I for India since its debut. Nitish Reddy has found 5 Test matches and 4 T20I under his belt. Therefore, both qualify.
For Harshit, he has played just 8 matches (2 Tests, 5 Odis, and 1 T20 Eye) and does not qualify in the same format, but a contract can be given, considering being played in all three formats.
Varun Chakarvardi and Shreyas Iyer to return
Varun Chakarwarthi and Shreyas Iyer are also expected to return. Shreyas was denied BCCI central contract last year due to some issues with the board. As Chakarwarthi, he returned to the Indian team last year and played 4 ODIs and 18 T20Is. Both played a role in winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in India.
