Unbeaten liberty look to expand the best start vs struggling sun

To start with a franchise Best 6–0, New York Liberty hosted 1-5 connectivate sun in the first game of the Commissioner Cup for both squads on Sunday afternoon.

Sun coach Rachid Mezian earned his first career WNBA win on Friday as Surya kept Cataline Clarke-cum Indiana fever, 85-83. Mezian received a game ball and a water bottle shower in the locker room.
This is a hard sledging for the Sun this season, with the matter of selling or moving to the franchise and the last year’s playoff team left or traded.
Veteran Tina Charles led the Sun with 17.2 points, with a game 16.2 with Marina Mabre.
“I think we have a team that does not have much experience, we just came with a new coach and some growing pain that will be difficult to work,” Mabre said after scoring a season-high 26 against fever. “I think right now, we need to continue construction and find out what they are that work for us and do them every night.”
With a win on Friday, Surya became the second WNBA franchise with 500 wins (Los Angeles Sparks). Connecticut in the franchise has 440 wins and orlando miracles as 60.
New York won three out of four meetings in the last season with The Sun.
