Abdul Carter of New York veterans led NFL Defense Rock of the Year Race
Abdul Carter was considered the top protective player in college football last season by most observers.
Now, he has his own places when he is a top defensive crook at NFL.
Carter was the number 3 overall pick in the NFL draft by New York Giants, and he is expected to have a force from Gate-Go.
Former Pen State Standout is a clear favorite for winning the NFL Defensive Ruckle of the Year honor due to its talent, expected production and opportunity.
The lineback/defensive end was also in the mixture outside the Jacksonville Jaguar Cornerback Travis Hunter and Atlanta Falcons. Dark horses include Lineback Mike Green and Arizona Cardinals Cornerback Will Johnson out of Baltimor Revenne.
Legendary Carter’s name can be written in Felt Pain over his depth chart, and he can be able to reach double digits in sacks this season. But even seven or eight sacks should be sufficient to win the award.
In the previous season, Los Angeles Ram ran out of Ram’s linebacker Jered Vers with voting – and he had only 4.5 sacks.
Carter led the nation with 23.5 tackle for the loss-including 12 sacks-and unanimously forced two Fambles, earning the first-team all-America honor. His sack was ranked seventh at the national level, and he was named Big Ten Defective Player of the Year.
So, you can hit the veterans with saliva at the end of your defensive line to the protective coordinator Shane Brown.
New York now has three stellar passes in Kaywon Thibodo, Brian Burns and Carter. If nothing else, each of the three will have space for topical breaths.
Regardless, Carter promises to be highly productive, no matter how the game time is divided.
Hunter, number 2 overall pick, a stellar coverage cornerback, but the question around it is its use as a receiver.
Jaguar has not decided how much Hunter will play on both sides of the ball – or can he focus more from one side.
If he plays an important role on crime, he can be just a minor contributor on defense. If he plays the cornerback mainly, then his interception counts or passes through the barometer.
New York Jets Cornerback Sauce Gardner won the award with just two interception in 2022, but led NFL with 20 pass breakups. In 2017, the then New Orleans Saints Cornerback Marshon Lattimore had five inter -intercourse when receiving the honor.
The walker is still raw, but will get enough opportunities to help protect faalcons. He was number 15 overall pick.
The 21 -year -old acted in Georgia and had 6.5 sacks in the last season, winning the Butcas Award as the country’s top lineback.
He is capable of topping the previous season’s sack Total as a crook and has recently vowed to chase aggressively to oppose quarterbacks.
Green is certainly a dark horse that was selected late in the second round (number 59 in total) by ravens.
He had 17 sacks in Marshall last season, but his stock as a certain rounder definitely fell due to two allegations of sexual harassment. He denied the allegations, one from a high school and the other from his time in Virginia, where he played before he was transferred to Marshal for his last college season.
The Drop Down Draft Board helped him to land with Baltimore, where he would be welcomed with-rashing skills. This means that the opportunity to create a large impact can be on the horizon.
Johnson is talented, but played in just six matches in Michigan last season due to injuries. He had nine college interception and returned three for the touchdown.
He was seen as the top -10 picks entering the 2024 season, but his stock declined and some teams were reportedly concerned about the knee issue. Cardinals were thrilled to get her in the second round (in total 47), and it could prove to be a theft.
Return to some interception to the touchdown as a crook, and “Dark Horse” Johnson can quickly become a major factor in this race.
