Fire unveiling in 2028 plans to open football-specific stadium in 2028

Chicago Fire on Tuesday unveiled a plan to build a privately funded, football-specific stadium with the Chicago River.

The estimated cost of the 22,000 -seat facility located just south of the Roosevelt Road is $ 650 million and is expected to open in the spring of 2028.

Club chairman and owner Joe Mansueto said the project includes restaurants, retail and office location and residential buildings with an entertainment district and green space and expansion of Chicago Riverwalk.

“A world-class city deserves a world-class football club-with a world-class house for Match,” Mannuito said about the 62-acre project located in the 78th neighborhood of the future of the city.

“Our privately funded stadium is purposeful for football to give our players an edge and our fans have an incredible match day experience. This development will be transformative for both Chicago Fire FC and Chicago city. Our new stadium will be anchor of this new neighborhood that will build a community, build thousands of jobs, and a significant economic impact will be a significant economic impact, and a significant economic impact.”

The stadium will have a natural grass -playing surface and it will be easily accessible by public transport.

The fire is currently nearly near Brijvyu, Il. After being transferred from the seatgek stadium, NFL’s Chicago Beer house plays her home matches in the Soldier Field.
