After Spat with LSG star Digvesh Rathi, Abhishek Sharma’s complicated meeting with Sanjeev Goenka

The on-field spat became the new thing in the city between Lucknow Super Gynts Spinner Digvesh Rathi and Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma. The incident took place during the IPL 2025 match between the two teams in Lucknow on Monday when Digwesh performed Abhishek and performed his trademark ‘notebook’. The festival was not well celebrated with Abhishek by the LSG spinner as the SRH opener accused Digvesh in anger, resulting in the umpires intervened and created peace between the two players.
After the game, the spat continued during the subsequent handsheck, the pair again exchanged some words and this time, LSG assistant coach Vijay Dahiya also intervened and urged him to resolve the differences. A few moments later, both Abhishek and Digwesh were seen walking with weapons on each other’s shoulders.
Amidst all this drama, LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka also came out and had a quick conversation with Abhishek. At this moment, SRH batsman Ishan Kishan was also present with the pair and some pictures of his meeting went viral on social media.

During the performance after the match, Abhishek also said that everything is fine between him and Digvesh now.
“I talked to him after the game and all this is good now. If we bat first, I could have other plans, but we had a clear plan chasing such a total. If you ask any player who is doing well for the team, you should be able to win the powerplay while chasing 200 plus.”
He said, “I wanted to express myself and if I do well, I know the team is also going to do so. It was the same plan that I did in international cricket too. Just express myself and knock it around,” he said.
Talking about Digwesh, the LSG spinner has been assigned a match suspension by the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council for repeated violations of the league’s code of conduct.
Rathi was already punished twice by the IPL for his extraordinary ceremony after taking wickets in LSG matches.
The spinner was fined 50 percent match fee and was also suspended from the next game of LSG against Gujarat Titans.
Abhishek Sharma was punished by the BCCI for his change with Digwesh during the match.
The IPL release further read: “Abhishek Sharma, all-rounder, Sunrisers Hyderabad have been fined 25 percent of their match fees, which was to dissolve the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s match against the Lucknow Super Veterans, which was on Monday Bhatti Ratna Shri Atil Bihari Vajpaye Ekna Cricket Standium.
