Yuzvendra Chahal has so far played wicketlaces, Kishan-Khalil-Tilak

Four Indians are playing in the county championship and Ruturaj Gaikwad will finish fifth next month.
Four Indian cricketers were in action today in the County Championship. Representing four different counties, only one of them got a chance to show their might with the bat or ball. Fascinatingly, all of them were playing away from their county homes. Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, and Khaleel Ahmed are in Division One, and Yuzvendra Chahal is playing in Division Two.
Chahal goes wicketless
Chahal played for Northamptonshire in the 2024-25 season as well and received a callback from the club. Kent won the toss and opted to bowl first at Canterbury. Playing his first match of the County Championship season, Chahal returned wicketless on what seemed like a batting-friendly surface, as just 4 wickets fell on the first day. The leg spinner bowled 25, the most by a Northants bowler.
Kishan shows magic behind the stumps
Kishan signed a two-match deal with Nottinghamshire. He’s already played one match and scored a quick-fire 87 on his County debut. In his last game, Notts lost the toss against Somerset and were put in the field at Taunton. Notts took 6 wickets on the first day and Kishan claimed three catches. He caught Tom Kohler-Cadmore off Mohammad Abbas, Tom Lammonby off Brett Hutton, and Tom Abell off Liam Patterson-White.
Hampshire gives Tilak Varma’s off-spinners a go
Making his County debut for Hampshire, Tilak Varma bowled 2 overs for 5 runs. After losing the toss against Worcestershire at Southampton, Hampshire were put in the field. On a good batting track, their bowlers were thrashed. Captain Ben Brown had tried 8 bowlers and got just 2 wickets in the entire day with Adam Hose scoring a double hundred.
Khaleel Ahmed sits tight on County debut
Khaleel played no part at all on his County debut. Essen won the toss and opted to bat first against Yorkshire at York. Just 3 wicket fell in the entire day.
