Houston Astro Slogger Yordon Alverez would experience a blow with his right hand and would see an expert, General Manager Dana Brown told reporters before Tuesday’s road game against Colorado Rockies.

Brown said that Alverages would look at the expert on Wednesday.

Alverages have missed two months due to injury. He practiced batting in Houston on Saturday and informed the West Palm Beach, FLA for the next step in his rehabilitation on Sunday, but the plan has changed after taking dried swings with the bat on Monday and reporting the agony at hand on Tuesday.

“This is a hard pill to swallow, but his health is the most important thing here at the end of the day,” Brown said. “And so, we will allow him to extract time that he needs to recover completely. At this point, the team is playing very well. We are more than 16 games.

“Hopefully it will not be long and we will get some good news in the next 48 hours.”

This shock comes at a time when Astro assumed that their main power source is making sharp progress and is close to re -inclusion of the squad.

Brown said, “We felt that he was close because he was feeling very late.” “And so this is definitely the news that we did not want.”

The 28 -year -old Alvarez last played on 2 May. He is batting only .210 with three Homer and 18 RBI in 29 matches this season.

The three-time all-star topped 30 homes in each of the last four campaigns and owns a slugging percentage of a career of 573.

Houston’s manager Joe Espada did not let the news of Tuesday reduce his enthusiasm.

“He is doing everything in his power to get back,” Espada said. “He is optimistic and I am optimistic with him. So we have just got to give it time and hopefully his hand will be cured and we will take him back to his lineup.”

Astro also recalled Utility player Shay Whitcomb from Triple-e-Chinese land, a day after placing shortstop Jeremy Pena (fracture rib) in the 10-day injured list.

The 26-year-old Whitcom, this season, has been hit in seven matches with Astro in nine at-bats. He is batting with 19 Homeers and 43 RBI at 60 Triple-A Games.
