“Yashasvi Jaiswal will score at least 2 and centuries in England”

After the centenary of Yashasvi Jaiswal in Leeds, his childhood coach Jwala Singh

India cricket team opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s childhood coach has backed him to score at least two more centuries in England. His remarks come after the Mumbai batter scored his first hundred in the UK in ENG vs IND 1st Test on Friday. Jaiswal played a mature knock, managing to score 101 runs off 159 deliveries before he was castled by Ben Stokes.

More centuries loading for Jaiswal?

Speaking to NDTV, Jaiswal’s childhood coach Jwala Singh heaped praise on the “mentally tough” batter. He drew a parallel between the opener’s knock and Sourav Ganguly’s hundred at Lord’s, noting that his innings will be remembered for a long time. Jaiswal’s coach said that he had expected the batter to score a couple of hundreds in Australia, but that did not happen.

“Given the coach’s confidence, he might score at least two more centuries. I had expected two centuries in Australia, but that didn’t happen. However, I think he’ll score at least two more centuries here. He’s worked hard on his game,” Jaiswal’s childhood coach said.

Jaiswal’s knock was studded with 16 fours and one six as he played the role of an aggressor in the 1st innings.

Addressing the negative news about Jaiswal before the start of the England series, Jwala Singh said that the batter was mentally tough and always worked on his game. He further backed the young Team India to do well in the absence of seniors like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Jaiswal’s coach predicted that India will go on to win the series for the 4th time in England.

The BCCI sent him to England early for more practice. He’s mentally strong and always works on his game. People said the team would struggle without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, but these young players are playing fantastic cricket. They know how to take challenges,” he added.
