According to Yenkis general manager Brian Cashman, New York Yankis Slugger Giancaro Stanton, who has not played this season this season this season, is near a rehabilitation assignment.

Talking to MLB Network Radio, Cashman said that his nominated hitter could return to live batting practice within the next two weeks, given that Stanton is “doing everything,”,, which includes completeing drills and closing the pitching machine.

“He is actually getting closer to a rehabilitation assignment,” said Cashman.

The 35-year-old Stanton was placed in the 10-day injured list at late March and was later transferred to the 60-day IL in May due to right and left elbow epicondylitis.

With Miami Marlins the 2017 National League MVP and five-time all-star, Stanton batted with 27 domestic runs. 233 and last season last season batted with 72 RBI in 114 matches. In seven sessions with Yankiz, Stantton has belt 162 homeers and run in 431 runs.

Injuries have disturbed Stanton, however: He has done just 94.7 games per season with New York, playing just twice in more than 115 games – the last time he played 139 games in 2021 when he played 139 games.
