WNBA Angel can’t certify disgusting fan comments towards Reese

The WNBA said on Tuesday that it could not verify allegations of hateful fan behavior in the Indiana fever season opener against Chicago Sky earlier this month.
“We have investigated the report of racist fan behavior in the area around the court during the Chicago Sky in the game of Indiana fever,” the statement said. “Based on the information collected till date, including relevant fans, teams and akhadas, along with audio and video reviews, we have not confirmed it. WNBA is committed to promote a safe and inclusive environment for all and our fans will be vigilant in implementing the code of conduct.”
The League did not identify the target of the alleged comments, but several outlets reported that they were directed in Sky Forward Angeles Reese.
The game had a stressful moment between Reese and Fever rival Ketlene Clarke, when Clarke fouled Reese to stop a paste in the third quarter. Reese instigated and seen to face Clarke.
Clarke’s dishonesty was upgraded to a Flagant -1, and Reese was awarded two free throw. After the game, when asked about it, both the players demanded to move forward.
The League did not say that one day was announced after the teams were played. Clarke later defended the Reese, stating that the WNBA had “no place” for racism or disgusting comments and trusted the league investigation.
