Winning a dream, Luke Clayn set for debut at RBC Canadian Open

FSU Mains Golf won the team regional title and junior Luke Clanton won individual titles at NCAA Talhasi Regional at Seminole Ligi Golf Club on Wednesday, 14 May.

Luke Clanton is champing in bit to make its professional start this week at RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto.

Clayton said on Tuesday, “This is something that you always dream.” “Now being here and calling myself a professional is a bit – honestly, a little strange at first because I have always been an amateur.

“It’s amazing. I am excited to come out from here and compete. It is not about money. It’s not about any fame. It’s about competing with these people on the tour.

The 21 -year -old Canton was the top position in the world before turning a pro this week. Florida native and Florida State Golfer obtained his automatic PGA Tour Card in Cognizant Classic at Palm Beach on 28 February through PGA Tour University Accelerated Marg.

Canton recorded a two -run -up finish between four PGA Tour Top -10 finish in 2024, which became the first amateur in 1961 after Jack Nickes, with at least three top -10 finishes on a PGA tour a year.

Now, the purpose of Canton is to create that success in his first visit to Canada.

And what aims Clayton has because he starts the next step of his career?

“My only goal is to be oriented by the procedure as much as I can.” “You can see very far in future and say that I want to win big companies and PGA tournaments. Obviously everyone wants to do so. For me, it is connected to my team, connected to my family, and connected to this process as much as I can do. It is a very common answer as everyone says, but it is something true.”
