Why Rishabh Pant comes with epic stump mic moments

Rishabh Pant on Thursday described reporters in front of the IND vs Eng 3rd Test at Lord’s as the reason behind his stump Mike Entics.

India cricket team star Rishabh Pant is known for his witty commentary from behind the stumps, most of them which leave fans in splits. The vice-captain continues to use the same technique in the ongoing ENG vs IND Test series, not only to communicate with teammates but also to play psychological games with the opposition. Ahead of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test, Pant spilled the beans on what goes behind his antics when he dons the gloves.

Pant’s coach reason behind stump mic moments

Speaking tor reporters on the eve of the Lord’s Test, Pant revealed that his coach Tarak Sinha was the reason behind his constant commentary on the stump mic. He said that his coach had always told him to keep talking to himself and that it was what he was doing to date.

My coach late Tarak Sinha taught me to keep talking to yourself. That’s what I have been doing since childhood; it helps me a lot,” Pant told reporters.

Pant has been elevated as vice-captain for the series against England. And hence, his role as a keeper becomes more crucial since he is the second pair of captain Gill’s eyes on the field. Besides, the southpaw was also seen in witty chatter with England cricketers who were trying to play mind games while he was batting at the Edgbaston.

So far, Pant has scored 342 runs in 4 innings, averaging 85.50. He’s India’s 2nd highest run-getter in the ongoing ENG vs IND Test series and 3rd overall. He has been sublime form, having struck twin hundreds in the 1st Test in Leeds followed by a half-century in the 2nd Test at Edgbaston.

Pant will hope to carry forward the momentum to the Lord’s Test where india have a chace to go 2-1 up the series.
