“Why are you thinking about the next young man?”: KL Rahul hits ‘decision makers’

Team India has rolled in a new chapter in Test cricket, in which Shubman Gill has been made the captain of the side, while Rishabh Pant plays his deputy. The transition comes after retirement of stallwarts like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin. In a press conference on Saturday, the Ajit Agkar -led selection committee made it clear that preparing the next generation focuses. Although another experienced India Batter, KL Rahul, is part of the Test Squad, is not fully with the crowd to prepare the next generation of talent.

In a conversation with Nasir Hussain on Sky cricket, Rahul shared pressure to prove himself again and again. While the wicket-keeper batsman clearly stated that he does not object to doing so, because it is part of an athlete’s life, things become difficult when the ‘decision-makers’ forget what a player did in recent outing.

“I have no objection to proving myself. I think how do you play. You never resolve. And it’s not just for me, it’s for every person who plays a game. You always have a challenge to be every tournament, every game, and it is a challenge to be an international athlete.

He said, “This is not difficult. The difficult part is that those who decide forget what a player has done in the recent tournament. This is a challenge for me.”

As the conclusion of Rahul’s Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign is not completely certain when India’s next ODI assignment is going to be. The 33 -year -old, trigger wide gaps between the wide gaps between the assignment to the ‘next generation’ out of the blue, much more for his disappointment.

“I don’t know when the next ODI series will be, but by the until the English heat is over, which can be about five (three) months, you write and comment that we need to look for players for the 2027 World Cup or the next World Cup.

“But I don’t think this is a challenge for me. It’s for everyone.”
