Why an NFL Draft Lottery Football Fans will have a disaster

So many sports fans were discussing the madness of the 2025 NBA draft lottery that speculation has increased whether NFL would ever pull its own draft lottery.

This will be my personal hell.

Earlier this week, the NBA draft lottery was found with several conspiracy principles. Dallas Maverix No. 1 to secure the rights to draft the overall pick and Duke star Cooper Flag – after the trade of Luka Donic – is considered a bit convenient for the game fans.

Mavericks had less than 2% probability of winning lottery and will now have to make a pair of flaging with Kyrie irving and anthony davis.

This actually deteriorated on teams that were really bad – Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets and Washington Vizards – who lost the most games, but would draft outside the top three in this June. These three teams now face a difficult fight in their reconstruction, which failed to draft a generational talent due to poor draft lottery luck.

The NBA draft lottery was designed to discourage the tanking. The message was simple: don’t lose sports intentionally, because there is no guarantee you will receive a top pick.

NFL does not have the same railing. The worst team gets the number 1 overall draft option. And it is how it should live, pushing for lottery despite some national pundits.

If we are honest with ourselves, some NFL organizations are just poverty. The NFL draft has become his super bow. Every year at the end of a week, fans of those teams expect. An NBA-style draft lottery will kill him.

Imagine 1-31 Cleveland Brown. In 2016, he won just one game. It earned him the Future Hall of Fame Defense and Mials Garat with a composite pick up with number 1, but his roster was still terrible. In 2017, Brows won the number 1 overall pick for the second consecutive season. The terrible stretch allowed him to draft Baker Mefield, which Cleveland hoped that his franchise would become quarterbacks.

If he was an NBA, there is no guarantee that they would have pics in the brown. The lottery could work in his favor – but there is also a chance that they could have wounds with a fifth or sixth pick and missed those superstars players.

There is also some more torture about malfunction in NFL compared to malfunction in NBA. NFL is a long season, but you get only one game per week – a chance to win every week. In NBA? You have chances every night. This makes the win in football much more sweet and the disadvantage is much more painful.

So when you are evil – and I mean really bad – one thing to hang your hat is NFL draft. In late December, as your team is already completely missing from the “in hunt” graphics, shown on TV during the playoff talks, football fans are comforting to read mock drafts and debate the greatest position of the need for the next season.

An NFL draft will ruin the magic of sucking in lottery football. Sometimes teams intentionally lose, and it is unfortunate. But sometimes these teams are just He Bad – and draft is the only way to protect them from themselves.
