Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of India’s men’s cricket team, recently slammed “experts” and some YouTubers to spread fake news about their cracks with skipper Rohit Sharma. Gambhir, mostly his serious and in the headlines of no nonsense, gave coaching to the Indian team, which lifted the Champions Trophy in March this year. However, some reports have recently surfaced, indicating that the relationship between Rohit and the team management has been kept under India’s defeat in the five-match Seema-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
Speaking at ABP India at the 2047 summit, Gambhir rubbed all the rumors and called Utubars Hungri for TRP.
“First of all, tell me who these people are, who feel that it is Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir. It is only on social media or someone who runs a YouTube channel, or who is expert, he has said these things for his YouTube channel and TRP,” Gambhir said.
“Two months ago, we won the Champions Trophy, now imagine, if we did not win the Champions Trophy, then what questions you must have asked me, two months ago, a coach and a captain won the Champions Trophy together, and after that, you are asking me that something is going on between me and Rohit Sharma,” he said.
The Indian head coach further said that his relationship with Rohit is about mutual respect for each other and his love for Indian cricket.
“I respect human beings, I respect the person who is he, I respect what he has done, for Indian cricket, I will always respect what he has contributed, and I have got a lot of time for a person like Rohit Sharma and it is not since he came to the team since and from now on.”
He said, “To get TRP, or to run a YouTube channel, if you ask these questions, I think, they need to do their homework, to be a little better,” he said.
Following the ongoing edition of the IPL, the Indian team will visit England for the five-match testing series, which will be kick-set from June 20.
