“When this IPL is finished …”: MS Dhoni broke the silence on his future in a T20 event

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni said on Wednesday that he would decide on his IPL future after working hard for 6-8 months and assess whether his body could face the demands of sports. The former captain of India, who has met with the yellow sea at every place to play in the IPL, admitted that he is in the final stretch of his career and fans do not know which game could be his last. “That is love and affection I have received all over. I am not 43 years old. I have played a long time. Many of them do not know when this is going to be my last year, so they want to come and see me playing,” Dhoni said after two-World victory of CSK over Kolkata Knight Riders.
He said, “I only play two months in a year. When this IPL is finished, I have to work for the next 6-8 months whether my body is capable of taking such pressure. There is nothing to decide so far, but the love and affection I get everywhere is excellent,” he said.
Dhoni, who performed knee surgery in 2023, has continued fitness concerns. CSK head coach Stephen Fleming recently admitted that experienced “cannot bat to run 10 overs completely.” “There is no one to escape from the fact (that I am in the final stage of my career). After the end of this IPL, I have to work hard for 6-8 months to see if my body can take this pressure. Now there is nothing to decide, but the love and affection I have seen is excellent,” said the wicketkeeper-batter.
This victory was only the third of the disappointing season of CSK which was married to inconsistencies. With the expectations of the play-off, Dhoni said that meditation is now on testing the strength of the bench.
“There were some things that did not go in our way. You can be emotional about it, you can talk about proud factor but you have to be practical about it.
“Just focus on where 25 players can fit. You want to be competitive, but you also want the answer – which batsman can fit, which bowler can bowl, according to circumstances and everyone. When we started, we are hardly scoring.
“We are out of the tournament, so you give them a chance, see how they react. This is the approach, mental cruelty you want to check. The most technically the right batsman doesn’t always score runs, if you have good awareness … have a chance to be consistent.” Meanwhile, the necklace leaves KKR with thin hopes of merit. When asked about the road ahead, Captain Ajinkya Rahane said, “It is very simple, now we have to win two of the two, let’s see what happens from there.”
