West Indies Pesar fined ICC, who was sent to Pat Cummins

Jayden Seels has been fined 15% of his match fee and he has been assigned a demerit point for his works on the day 1 of the Wi vs Aus 1st Test.

West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales has been penalized by the ICC for his actions on Day 1 of WI vs AUS 1st Test. The pacer gave Australian skipper a fiery send off after dismissing him the 1st innings of the game. The Test match at Barbados is evenly poised, with bowlers from both sides reaping the benefits of the Barbados pitch.

Seales fined

A press release from the ICC stated that Seales had been fined 15% of his match fee and was handed one demerit point. The bowler now has two demerit points to his name over the last 24 months.

It was found to have breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match,” the release stated.

The incident occurred when a frustrated Seales pointed towards the Australian dressing room after dismissing captain Pat Cummins. The Windies pacer was miffed by the fact that the visitors’ skipper played a handy cameo while wickets continued to fall around him. Cummins managed to score 28 runs off 18 deliveries, striking three fours and one six before he was sent packing by Seales.

It did not really mean anything and it was more a bit of frustration,Pat hit a couple of good shots off me and I just showed him where the dressing room was and there wasn’t really anything in it,” Seales said when he was quizzed on the incident.
