“Well, the main bowler …”

Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardane said that his side lost in execution and lost the game despite being under control against Gujarat Titans in the IPL, saying that five -time champions would consider every remaining match as “playoffs”. Titans of Gujarat won the fourth consecutive win over Mumbai Indians, with a three -wicket win in a rainy game. The MI was limited to 155 to eight, GT six slipped to 126, but the interruption of another rain saw that the target was revised to 15 needs than the final.

GT climbed over the line on the final ball to go to the top of the points table, while MI would now need to win the remaining two matches to qualify for the playoffs.

“I think it is sung by it. It’s margin, but I probably, both teams made a lot of mistakes in the middle and we probably made more than them,” Jayverdin told the media after the match.

“We were in a situation when we (five) were winning five games, four necklaces (and). Since that time, we (in A) were very high in every game. We had a very good run. The difficult and a good thing of the tournament is that we are in the bunch that is in that bunch, so we probably control our own fate.

He said, “We were probably 30 runs on that wicket and people really bowled well, made a lot of opportunities, really well (and) fought for everything so that it is a good sign and we will consider every game as a playoff game for us now.”

In the final over, Deepak Char accepted one four and one six and also bowled a no-ball as GT’s house.

However, Jayawardene said Mi lost control when they were still at the top and this was the cause of their defeat, not in the simple finals of four.

He said, “I could bowl (Jack) Jackie, Karn Sharma, or whoever was (whatever) over (whatever was), but I think Deepak had worked for us in some sports before. He was good, the main bowler. (This) (our way) could go,” he said.

“It is easy for you to ask the question that ask me this question and to say this for me, perhaps Hardik. He said,” It was not a decision, it was execution and it’s not a place where we have lost the game. My thinking (that) we lost the game when we had control of it and it was disappointing, “he said.

Meanwhile, GT’s assistant coach Parthiv Patel defended his middle and lower order batsmen, as he struggled to chase a medium clan on the batting -friendly surface, especially when his top three – B Sai Sudhrasan (5), Jose Butler (30) and Shubman Gill (43) – failed.

He said, “He hardly got a chance to bat. It was the only day where none of the top three got fifty. Otherwise, till date, everyone had got those runs. It is just a game each. But said that, we should clearly take some correct decisions,” he said.

Patel said, “We still want to improve. We want to be better at the end of the tournament business.”
