Yon Monkada’s three-run domestic run exposed Los Angeles Angels in the eighth innings of six runs to win the 8–3 win over Toronto Blue Jais on Tuesday night in California.
Monkada signed a year, $ 5 million contract to replace the injured Anthony Randon on a third basis, but played in only eight matches this season, before a right thumb sent him to the injured list on 10 April.
Monkada was hitting a. 190 with homers without returning to the lineup on Tuesday and made an immediate difference.
The angels entered the eighth innings 3–2 when Zach Neto went and stole another. He scored and tied the game on an error by the third baseless Erni Clement, which could not handle a throw from Catcher Elegendra Kirk after fielding Nolan Shanuel.
After two batsmen, Blue Jais Reliever Yimi Garcia was replaced by Jeff Hoffman, who produced the RBI single by Logan O’Hope – the third hit of the game – the third hit of the game – to upgrade the angels. Monkada first hit the pitch and saw in the right field seats for a 7-3 lead from Hoffman.
Joe added a single homer in the innings to cap for scoring. Hector Neris (1–1) was one of the three Los Angeles relievers, starting his angels and won over Garcia (0–2).

Blue Zais arrived at the scoreboard in the first innings, when Vladimir Gurero Junior one out of Angills Starter Tyler Anderson and scored on Springer’s two-outs, two-un-up home runs.
Angels responded to Blue Jais Starter Jose Unana at the bottom of the first innings, which was signed by Blue Jais on Monday after being released by the Chicago cub.
Neto led the innings with a single and stole one later. Neto then scored a two-run homer of Taylor Ward, tied the game 2–2.
Anderson settled and retired in the third, fourth and sixth innings in Blue Jais.
Anderson got no decision after throwing 6 2/3 innings and allowed six hits and two runs on a walk, setting out of seven to 93 pitches.
