Washington Beautiful 4-Fer Set 193 After India Slip till 58/4

IND vs England Highlights: Washington Sundar took 4 wickets to take out England for 192, but India slipped until 58/4

The equation is simple heading into the final day. India need 135 more runs to win. England need 6 wickets to clinch the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. India swung the advantage in their favour on Day 4, bowling England out for 192. Joe Root and Ben Stokes threatened to bat the hosts out of trouble. However, Washington Sundar picked up a 4-wicket haul to stop England in their tracks.

In response, Jofra Archer once again got the better of Yashasvi Jaiswal with the new ball. Karun Nair threw away another solid start, while Shubman Gill had a streaky outing. Kl Rahul was accompanied by nightwatchman Akash Deep, who fell in the final over to leave India at 58/4.

Washington Sundar repays faith

Washington Sundar’s inclusion for the IND vs ENG 3rd Test was a tricky one. However, with 4 days into the game, it is fair to say Gautam Gambhir and Shubman Gill got their call right. Sundar went wicketless in the first innings, but chipped in with a valuable 23 batting around with Ravindra Jadeja in the first innings. With the pitch aiding spin, the all-rounder ran through the English middle order. Sundar dismissed Root, Stokes and Brook to finish with figures of 4/22 in a fine bowling show.

Jaiswal fails Archer test again

In his short Test career, Yashasvi Jaiswal has tormented England. The young opener has more than a 1000 runs against England, and has a century and a half-century in this series. However, England now have their response. Jofra Archer, Jaiswal’s teammate at Rajasthan Royals, silenced him at Lord’s. Archer dismissed him in both innings, in his very first over.
