“Was this his own decision?”

Former England captain Michael Atherton recently gave a shocking step on Rohit Sharma’s sudden retirement from Test cricket. The Indian captain called Time on his Test career before the upcoming five -match series against England in June. Taking it on social media, Rohit announced his decision and also said that he would continue to play in the ODI match for India. Rohit’s decision came amid reports who suggested that the selectors were not going to appoint him as captain in the test against England.
There has been a significant decline in recent years as Rohit and India’s loss against Australia in the five-match border-Gavaskar Trophy has only put pressure on his shoulders. Attarton said that although Rohit’s retirement came out from anywhere, he would have been indicated that his situation in the team is not certain.
“Is that retirement completely his decision, or did he understand whether he was being pushed or ax is coming because there was a report a day before the announcement from Rohit, that the selectors decided to move forward?” Attarton said while speaking on Sky Sports.
“So these are speculation, we don’t know, but finally the decision did not come as a surprise because it is a bad combination for any captain, as you know and as I know well know what you are losing the game and you are not getting any runs and India had lost 5 matches out of the last 6 matches under Rohit’s captaincy.”
Rohit decided to play 67 Tests and hang his shoes after scoring 4301 runs for India. This includes an average of 18 half -centuries and 12 centuries of an average of 40.58.
“I think people will see him, and his best format is ODI. He is going to go down as one of the greatest ODI openers, not that? But he’s a fun test career,” Ettyart said.
He said, “He had to wait for a long time to arrive and then about a career of two parts in the tests, with a dozen hundreds at the end average of more than 40 ticks means that it is a successful record, but not quite a stellar record,” he said.
