Virat Kohli’s test on retirement, Anushka Sharma’s first response: “You remember tears …”




India’s Stalwart Virat Kohli on Monday announced his retirement from Test cricket, leading to a shock of tribute, honor and love to one of the biggest batsmen of Indian cricket and the leading Test captain as its most successful Test captain. At the age of 36, Kohli – after 9,230 runs in 123 tests – farewell to the longest format of the game. Kohli’s wife, Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma, who is often seen with him during the matches, wrote an emotional message to celebrate his test retirement.

Taking it on Instagram, Anushka gave a hearty message to her husband, which put more emphasis on the person behind the cricketer on Kohli.

“They will talk about records and milestones – but I will remember the tears you never showed, no one saw the fight, and the unbreakable love that you gave to this format of the game. I know how much it was taken from you. After every test series, after every test series, you a little intelligent, a little humble – and all this was seeing that all this is a privilege.”


Anushka also surprised that Kohli had chosen to retire from Test cricket so soon.

“Somehow, I always imagined that you will retire from international cricket in whites – but you have always followed your heart, and so I just want to say your love, you have earned everything about this goodbye,” Anushka further wrote.

Anushka is a consecutive attendance in India’s matches, and Kohli has often dedicated his centuries to his wife.

The official announcement of Kohli’s retirement was a few days after the report came out that he had informed the BCCI of his decision to leave cricket. 36 -year -old, as a result, will not play in India’s upcoming five -match Test series in England in June.

Kohli, which retired as India’s most successful Test captain. After leading India in more than half of the tests played by him, Kohli shocked 40 of his 68 matches as captain. His winning percentage of 58.82 is the highest for any Indian captain, leading 10 tests or more.
