Virat Kohli test indicates on retirement talks, pre-India star “helplessness” factor

Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif has urged Virat Kohli to reconsider his decision, as his test retirement loom is the elder report. India captain Rohit Sharma decided to end his test career, Espncricinfo reported that Kohli told BCCI about his intention to retire from the format. For a five-observer series very soon to visit England with India, the BCCI has allegedly urged the player to reconsider his decision. However, the player is yet to communicate his final decision to the board.
Taking the social media platform X, Kaif suggested that if Kohli has made up his mind to retire, he should do so in style by playing five Tests against England. Kaif also explained the argument behind Kohli Muling Retirement, if the reports are correct.
“Virat Kohli, the Babbar lion of India wants to rest. He is thinking about retirement. I think he should go to England, prove his talk and finish his career on a high note. Kaka’s Kaka Kaka should end his career on a good note in T20 World Cup. Is he thinking about bowling.

However, the 2020s has not been very good for superstar batsmen, who scored just 2,028 runs in 39 tests at an average of 30.72, with nine fifty in 69 innings with just three centuries and nine half -centuries. His number received a great boost in 2023, where he scored 671 runs in eight tests on an average of 55.91, with two centuries and two fifties in 12 innings.
He finished on a shocking average of 22.47 with just 382 runs in 10 tests last year, with just one century and fifty in 19 innings. His last Test outing was the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour in Australia since November-January, where he scored just 190 runs in nine innings of 23.75, with a highlight in his century in Perth.
